Taking Steps Towards Positive Change

taking-stepsHave you given up on your New Years Resolutions yet? Is the thought of loosing 20 pounds, quitting smoking, getting out of debt, etc., seem like a loosing battle? I know the feeling. In my previous post, I talked about setting an Un-Resolution so you don’t get hung up on overwhelming goals and changes.

My Un-Resolution this year was to be more active. I tend to do a lot of sitting, especially at my computer and during winter months. I put my Fitbit on every morning and make sure I get 3000 steps a day. That may or may not seem like a lot, but when you sit most of the day you have to go out of your way to make it to 3000 steps. It’s definitely doable and every day that I hit the 3000 mark is a victory that I feel great about. Once I get the hang of 3000 steps a day, I plan on increasing my goal. I know I’ll get there literally one step at a time.

Your goals may be different than mine, but I know with full confidence that if you take one step towards making a positive change you WILL get there. Maybe you try smoking one less cigarette a day, buying one less latte, or one thing to get you closer to the life you want, whatever it might be. Doing one thing that you’re proud of is better than not doing a list of 10 things and feeling defeated. Life is not a race to the finish, it’s a journey that we’re on every day. Let’s do this together!
